Tareq Osman – CPA and Controller for Islamic Relief USA
A certified public accountant (CPA) in Virginia, Tareq Osman is the founder and owner of All CPA Services in Falls Church, where he assists individual and business clients with tax preparation, audits, financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, reconciliations, and other essential accounting functions. He has extensive experience providing accounting services and financial analysis for both corporate and nonprofit organizations.
Since 2010, Tareq Osman has also served as a controller for Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA), a humanitarian aid organization and the largest Islamic faith-based nonprofit in the United States. Founded in 1993, IRUSA provides disaster response and sustainable development services to communities worldwide, adhering to the key values of Islamic faith: compassion, custodianship, justice, sincerity, and excellence.
At IRUSA, Osman led the establishment of financial policies and procedures to ensure the organization’s regulatory compliance and to enable informed decision-making by the leadership team. He also implemented internal controls to protect organizational assets and mitigate risk. On an ongoing basis, he prepares financial reports; recruits and trains new financial staff; and advises IRUSA’s CEO on financial strategies that will allow the nonprofit to achieve its goals.
Osman’s previous experience with nonprofits includes positions with AARP and World Wildlife Fund (WWF). At AARP, he worked as a senior analyst responsible for financial reports used in strategic business planning. As an accounting analyst at WWF, he was responsible for managing an operating cash account and reconciling five bank accounts.
Prior to that, Tareq Osman served as an accounts payable accountant and financial analyst at the Washington Convention Center in D.C. He provided primary assistance in facilitating audit requests by the Government Accounting Office and other external financial auditors. He began his career working in accounts payable with Teligent Telecommunications.
Osman attended Southeastern University, where he majored in accounting and graduated with Dean’s List honors. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
